World Famous Bavarian Bonanza Hosts Final DACH E-commerce Quiz | Nexi Roadshow: Bits & Pretzels Munich
The ‘Nexi Roadshow’ has made its last stop. We’ve been to Berlin, Hamburg and now…
Munich for Bits & Pretzels.
This conference is an impressive gathering of entrepreneurs, startups and investors that also coincides with the world famous Oktoberfest celebration. In partnership with Nexi, we went along to this Bavarian bonanza to find out more about the ever expanding and fascinating world of e-commerce and payments in the DACH region.
Plenty of Bits and Pretzels
As you can imagine, Bits & Pretzels, which took place between 29th September and 1st October, does in fact include pretzels. There are stations throughout the venue, Munchen Messe, that offer a number of them.
It’s also a place where budding entrepreneurs and startups of all kinds can come and present what they have to offer and network with other people in the startup ecosystem. So it made the perfect location for the final stop on our Nexi Roadshow tour of Germany, talking about developments in e-commerce and payments technology.
Whilst there we took in some of the conference, and spoke to some interesting experts from different companies in the space.
Insightful conversations and a quiz
Those included Henning Brandt, Chief Communication Officer of Computop, a major payments technology company, Kay Dallmann from financial solutions provider Riverty and Sean Barkulis from world renowned website builder, Wix.
It was very interesting to hear multiple perspectives on the DACH e-commerce landscape and what makes it different from other areas of Europe and indeed the world. There is a lot to unpack here and you can look out for interviews from them coming very soon, but just know there are some great points around the current state of BNPL, the optimal online checkout, and the value of tech partnerships in a region which is often quite fragmented.
In the highlights video above, the DACH e-commerce quiz makes a return as we put some of these experts and more to the test. We’ve put together a fresh set of questions and stats around e-commerce and payment habits, as well as a few fun ones, relating to the conference in Munich. See how you did, and let us know.
Oktoberfest
The highlights also cover the Oktoberfest celebrations, which were going on the whole time we were there. The Bits & Pretzels conference even makes a point of ending the event at Oktoberfest. We went along to see what it was all about and were not disappointed. It’s an impressive sight and a beautiful glance into Bavarian culture, with lots of people clearly having a great time.
It made for a great end to this trip and a perfect send off for the Nexi Roadshow. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed joining Nexi on this trip across Germany in 2024, learning plenty about this unique and exciting region and who knows, maybe we’ll do it again sometime!
